Fatal Truck Crash On Route 1

Odessa – The Delaware State Police Fatal Accident Investigation and Reconstruction Team is investigating a one vehicle pedestrian crash that has taken the life of a 24 year old, Newark man.
On Thursday, February 2, 2006 at approximately 6:10 a.m. a 2006 Freightliner tractor hauling a 2002 Heil tanker trailer was traveling in the right lane of southbound Delaware Route 1, approximately 2.4 miles south of Delaware State Route 299. Bruce Predeoux, 52, of Salisbury, Maryland was the operator and lone occupant of the vehicle. The vehicle is registered to Ocean Petroleum in Newark, Maryland. The tanker trailer was filled with approximately 8,600 gallons of gasoline.
A 1989 Ford 350 Econoline utility truck was disabled on the right shoulder of southbound Delaware Route 1. Eric Wisneiski, 24, of Newark and his passenger Steven Dericco, 37, also of Newark where standing on the shoulder near the edge of the roadway. The vehicle is registered to Catts Plumbing Repairs, Smyrna, Delaware.
As the tractor and trailer traveled south it started to drift onto the right shoulder for an unknown reason. The vehicle was heading towards the disabled vehicle and the occupants who were attempted to refuel the disabled vehicle.
