Tractor Trailer Kills Motorcycle Passenger

A California truck driver has been placed in jail after he hit a Byron man riding his motorcycle at the intersection of Ga. 49 and Ga. 11 on Sunday, 8/26/07.

The Hayward, CA truck driver ran a stop sign, turning northbound into the southbound lanes of Ga. 49. The tractor trailer hit Thomas Abercrombie and his passenger on the 2007 Kawasaki EX250F7F motorcycle.

Abercrombie was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but the passenger, Jason Wesley Vinson died at the scene.

Harvinder Singh, the truck driver, has been charged with first degree vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to yeild the right of way, and reckless driving.
