Truck Collision with Auto Results in Injuries

Press Release, Jul 31, 2006

Portland, Oregon  - A couple from The Dalles, Oregon were stopped in a construction zone on I-84 near Hood River, Oregon when they were the first auto rear-ended by a truck traveling at high rate of speed.

Witnesses told police that they did not think that the driver of the truck applied the brakes before hitting the first car. The truck caused a seven car pile-up and a chemical spill.

The couple from The Dalles was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The driver had lost consciousness in the collision.

After the accident occurred, the driver from The Dalles retained Oregon personal injury lawyer Richard Vangelisti. "Speeding, tailgating and failure to yield are some of the leading causes of accidents in Oregon. In this case the truck driver allowed himself to be distracted, and was not watching the road when traffic ahead of him had stopped for construction," said Vangelisti.

The couple from The Dalles resolved their claims against the truck driver with the insurance company that insured the truck driver's company. The settlement remains confidential.

Drivers who have been injured in an accident have strict deadlines for bringing personal injury claims relating to the accident. It is critical that an injured driver or passenger contact a Washington or Oregon accident attorney if he or she may have a claim from the accident. A personal injury attorney at Vangelisti Kocher LLP can provide a free consultation to discuss injuries and legal rights.
