Truck Driver Arrested For DUI

Yet another truck driver has been arrested this week for DUI. Jake G. Clark, a 45 year old resident of Arlington, Washington was driving his truck-tractor with an oversized manufactured home in tow. The truck belongs to Williams Scottsman of Portland, Oregon.
Clark was stopped north bound on I-205 by Trooper Gordon Gruendell after he observed insulation spilling from underneath the manufactured home. While contacting the driver Trooper Gruendell noticed that Mr. Clark was taking a “no big deal” attitude towards the spilling of the load. Trooper Gruendell then detected an odor of alcohol coming from the driver.
Clark submitted to field sobriety test in addition to a portable breath test, both of which Mr. Clark failed. Breath test confirmed that his blood alcohol level was over the legal limit of .04 BAC for an operator of a commercial vehicle.
Clark was charged with DUI (alcohol in his system) and placed out of service for a 24 hour period.
Trooper Gruendell took a truck pulling a 14’ x 60’ trailer off the road, possibly preventing a serious collision. This is the third alcohol related incident involving a commercial vehicle in the last three days.
